Spider Tanks ran a few play to earn events during May Mayhem, but now they’re ready to bring an eSport style tournament to their tank brawling game. The Spider Tanks team refers to this competition as the “Mayhem Week 4 Tournament”, so perhaps the May Mayhem was so great that it spilled over into June!

Spider tanks is free to play for anyone with a Gala Games account, but this tournament is limited to those with a Gala Gold membership. Gala Gold membership must be purchased by the time registration closes. Players do not need to own any Spider Tank NFTs to play in the tournament. However, they will be limited to whatever the free tank and weapon options are for the day.

Mayhem Tournament

Pre-registation for this Spider Tanks tournament closes on June 27th at 12pm PDT, so don’t wait too long to sign up! You can either bring a team of three players, or try your luck as a solo registrant assigned to a random group.

As part of the signup process, all players must create an account on nftguilds.io. Registration is free and players do NOT need to pay to form a guild. Once the tournament is registered, team captains will be able to form their teams.

The tournament matches begin on June 29th and run through the 2nd of July. The match types will all be Team Deathmatch. In Team Deathmatch, the team with the most kills after three and a half minutes wins. If time runs out with the score tied, the game goes into sudden deathmatch, with the next kill deciding the winner.

Unfortunately, they haven’t revealed the rewards to us yet. Nor the official tournament rules. All they will say is that the top 64 teams enter into a final bracket style competition, and that all of them will earn scaled rewards based on their final spot.

What is Spider Tanks?

shoot to kill

Spider Tanks is a top-down, tank-based, MOBA. Built as part of the Gala Games ecosystem, Spider Tanks already offers a free-to-play beta for anyone with a Gala Games account. Two teams of five players battle across a variety of maps and game modes. (hint: If you see a chicken, it’s probably something important!)

All players have access to a free selection of equipment. This includes three different tank bodies, each with different stats, and a number of options for weapon and equipment load-outs. Spider Tanks isn’t all about shooting. There are also healing abilities, shields, invisibility cloaks, and airstrikes… just to name a few! The game offers a practice mode for new players or for trying out new builds. The free tank and weapons options change from day to day.

The game action is fluid and fast-paced. Simple on the surface, Spider Tanks features a lot of equipment options, even for free players. There is definitely potential for team coordination and tank synergy when playing with friends.

NFTs for Spider tanks come in a variety of types from tank bodies to weapons, to map pieces to factories. Many are limited editions and some are special collaborations (including Snoop Dogg tanks!). Some are visual skins only, though many offer bonuses or a new type of ability.

Spider Tanks has plans for a play and earn economy including earning by playing, rentals for tank owners, land ownership in the form of maps, component creation with Factories, and even climbing to the role of Emperor for an entire planet! The token for Spider Tanks will be called SILK.
