Heroes Chained just ended their first funding round on Seedify, raising 327k BUSD, and they’re in the process of allocating HEC for Avalaunch stakers. The team aims to redefine what play to earn means at its core, and they plan to do it with this new Fantasy RPG.
What is Heroes Chained?
Heroes Chained (HC) is a real-time fantasy action RPG game, where the player becomes a Guild Master and gathers heroes. The main concepts of the game are:
- Build: players will be able to build their guild, gather/breed heroes, and participate in land game.
- Battle: both PVE and PVP will be available to players.
- Explore: the world of Ventuna is full of mysteries, and they’re all waiting to be discovered.
All Guilds, items, and collectibles will be traded in the open marketplace for HeC, the game cryptocurrency. Their whitepaper explains in detail how the game will look.
The team claims this will be the first Play & Earn (P&E) game on the market. Their focus will be on the game mechanics rather than simply giving players the ability to earn.
Amongst the team members, we can find popular illustrators and game designers, including Mevlut Dinç, who worked for EA, Bethesda, and Unity in his long-lasting and impressive career.
Official Teaser of Heroes Chained
Heroes Chained doesn’t have a Gameplay Demo, as of now, and some of the developers in their Discord Channel said they don’t want to release it until they have a functioning demo to show their supporters.
However, they released a great teaser showcasing the amazing art style the game will follow.
Tokenomics
Opposing traditional models, that include two or three in-game tokens plus a governance token, Heroes Chained seems to focus on their HeC token only as of now.
There’s no clear indication of other in-game currencies, but that could change in the near future as the game is developed.
The total supply of HeC is capped at 100,000,000 and is distributed as follows:
And here’s the token release schedule
There’s no further explanation on how the token will be used, other than for purchasing NFTs in the marketplace and/or in-game perks. It’s unclear how they will build utility for the token, and there is no further explanation on the whitepaper for now. We suggest keeping an eye on it, they should add more details there soon!
Play & Earn – a new model on the horizon?
After Age Of Tanks, other game development studios are starting to focus on playability and creating something actually enjoyable other than tokenomics and NFT marketplaces alone.
There’s a possibility the Play & Earn model will spread more and more across several blockchain games, assuming game developers find ways to make it easy for newcomers to join.
Heroes Chained does this by providing an in-game wallet without requiring players to know anything about the blockchain. This could bring newbies and non-crypto enthusiasts to join the revolution in gaming.
