Open beta arrives in The Machines Arena on April 23rd, bringing with it game updates, new mechanical companions known as Familiars, and an opportunity to join in a future play to airdrop opportunity!
Development marches forward on The Machines Arena, bringing us to open beta. The open beta for The Machines arena is free to play, open to all, and begins on April 23rd.
Aside from browser play, players will now also be able to also compete on Android devices. The Machines Arena is available through Epic Games, or as a download for Android on the official website. Player accounts are synced between both versions and everyone competes in the same arenas.
The Machines Arena team also plans a play to airdrop campaign later during open beta. No details yet. But expect to see leaderboards with rewards for playing, accomplishing certain goals in-game, and engaging in social activities. They also promise plenty of other updates including new skins, new maps, new mitable collectible items, and more!
In addition, this open beta will also bring familiars to the game, companions that offer different stat boosts during a match. And, in fact, players can claim a free bundle of three Familiars for a limited time during the open beta. These free familiars will be in-game items only. Though there will also be familiars that players can purchase from the in-game store which will be mintable into NFTs. And in order to keep the playing field level, during Ranked PvP, everyone’s Familiar will provide the same percentage boost for all players.
For anyone who played during the alphas or betas and earned special skins, those should all be mintable on the Ronin network now. You can buy and sell skins for The Machines Arena on the Mavis market.
What is The Machines Arena?
The Machines Arena is a quick-paced, action-packed, top down, MOBA game pitting two teams of four players against each other in a variety of game modes. Wielding weapons such as guns, lasers, and flamethrowers, players fight in matches that typically last 5-10 minutes. The Machines Arena offers ten characters to choose from, with an assortment of powers, strengths, and weaknesses. Characters are classed as tank, support, and assault. Working together with your team is crucial for success.
The Machines Arena was not originally planned as a blockchain game. But since their first beta release they have expanded their plans. And after a partnership with Sky Mavis, The Machines Arena now allows players to mint, buy, and sell character skins on the Ronin network.
The game is still in early development, but already boasts a very playable game.
