Socios.com, an influential blockchain-powered fan engagement platform, recently rolled out a trifecta of new features to enhance innovative fan experiences in the sports landscape.
Each new feature boosts the utility of ‘Fan Tokens’ — a digital token (NFT) that can “transform passion into extraordinary rewards” — to enhance connections between fans and their favorite sports teams.
Fan Favourite: Vote for the ‘Player of the Match’
First up, ‘Fan Favourite’ amplifies fan participation during match days, building upon existing ‘Predicator’ and ‘Check-in’ features. Through this new feature, fans are empowered to vote for their favorite player of the game 15 minutes before the match ends. Once the match comes to a close, the results are revealed, with winners winning exclusive experiences as rewards.
Notably, Fan Favourite is quickly garnering popularity due to giving fans the unique opportunity to honor player achievements and earn prizes. Already, more than 260,000 votes have been cast, with 57 football teams participating as a consequence.
Locker Room: Unlocking Digital Assets
Next up, the ‘Locker Room’ feature is one to watch out for, allowing fans to redeem one-of-a-kind digital items by “locking” their Fan Tokens.
Two types of ‘Lockers’ are available: ‘The Locked Locker’ and ‘The Flexible Locker’. The former enables sports fans to redeem their rewards immediately — although Fan Tokens remain locked until the campaign concludes. The latter also gives fans the unique opportunity to unlock Fan Tokens and obtain rewards. However, there’s a catch: if opening too early, the reward may disappear.
The main aim of Locker Room is to bolster the utility of Fan Tokens, providing fans with numerous rewards like virtual and tangible goods, including real-world VIP experiences and signed merchandise, provided they remain strategic and cautious.
Over 3,000 users have engaged with this feature since launching, locking approximately 30,000 Fan Tokens and collecting over 25,000 virtual collectibles.
Auction: Earn Exclusive Merchandise
Last but not least is the ‘Auction’ feature, spurred from the company’s ‘Get The Ball, Own The Moment’ collaboration with the professional football league competition Serie A. Through this feature, football fans can leverage Socios’ in-app currency $CHZ, to place bets on matches, potentially winning footballs and game-worn autographed jerseys depending on their results.
In the near future, the Socios hopes to extend the Auction feature to all football partners and further widen the boundaries of the Fan Favourite feature to include sports like rugby and racing.
Despite already having more than 2 million users across 160 nations, these new Socios features present the platform’s strong dedication to enhancing sports fandom through issuing significant rewards to users across the globe.
