The latest addition to the Epic Games Store goes by way of Blankos Block Party, an NFT-powered game published by Mythical Games. Although already possessing a reported one million users, the Web3 game designed for Mac usage will now be exposed to the almost 200 million user base of the Epic Games Store.

Launched in beta in December 2020, Blankos Block Party is a ‘safe NFT game’ wherein players co-create and interact with each other across an array of vibrant 3D environments. The game incorporates blockchain technology through allowing players to purchase NFT digital apparel which their unique metaverse avatars can then wear. The assets can be resold via the Mythical marketplace, or alternatively, combined with each other to form new NFTs.

With a timeframe for Blankos Block Party’s launch onto the Fortnite developers’ marketplace still TBA, it is still common thought that Gala Games’ GRIT will be the inaugural NFT game to grace the store. For now, the only real insight into the specifics of the launch has come through Mythical Games’ co-founder John Linden, who stated that the Epic Games Store version of the game will initially be identical to the pre-existing Mac version.

That being said, Linden added that Blankos’ launch onto Epic’s marketplace will see it exit the ‘early access phase’ which it’s been in for a while, meaning with help from the company’s consortium of gaming experts who’ve worked for the likes of Activision, Oculus, and EA, the game will quite likely experience an ample amount of upgrades once it’s released to Epic’s mass audience.
