Following an ongoing alliance with the next-gen fashion brand RTFKT, the sportswear titan Nike just unveiled its latest offering: ‘RTFKT Dunk Genesis’ sneakers, now available to pre-order at https://shop.rtfkt.com.
Unlike RTFKT and Nike’s co-created past versions, anyone can own these footwear items without owning an expensive NFT. Priced at $222 a pair, the ‘VOID Edition’ shoes will become available to the public on July 31, 2024, months before the ‘Ghost Edition’ rolls out on August 31, 2024.
Breaking new ground in innovation yet again, each pair boasts distinctive design elements, including a detachable ‘Modular Heel Shield’ and ‘Vial Clip Tongue’ for a bespoke style. On top of that, the trainers each accompany an NFC chip called ‘RTFKT World Merging’, enabling owners the opportunity to own a digital counterpart.
A more budget-friendly option of attire — stylish black and white t-shirts adorning the quote “Oops, you stepped into the future” — will also be available to purchase on March 31, 2024, for just $40 apiece.

Nike x RTFKT’s NFT Saga Continues
The blockchain platform for minting the associated NFTs of these fashion items remains uncertain. However, Nike typically operates its virtual collections on its digital platform .Swoosh, held on the Polygon blockchain to enable buyers to trade, display, or wear Nike-branded digital attire in immersive experiences, including video games.
Additionally, this new unveiling follows the success of ‘RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1’ sneakers, which debuted earlier this year and drew widespread acclaim, notably propelled by the NBA legend LeBron James modeling these kicks.
Also not to be overlooked is the impressive trading volume of RTFKT’s ‘Clone X’ NFTs, amassing more than $853 million in sales. The floor price of one of these NFTs alone is a whopping $2,850 (1.4 ETH), owing to being a key access point for a pair of Air Force 1s.
As the saga continues, RTFKT and Nike’s forthcoming NFT venture not only fuses fashion and technology but also indicates a transformative shift in how digital and physical apparel can combine.
