Oath of Peak Official Launch

Finally, the Oath of Peak official launch is here! The game will be available for Android, iOS, and PC, but only Android users can initially play. This is a mobile MMORPG that no fan of the genre is going to skip.

That is correct! Oath of Peak is finally available. OGs already started before playing it and now it is time for the whole community to join. Oath of Peak is a Mobile MMORPG with features typical of games that fall into this genre, like auto-play.

The game interacts with the Polygon Blockchain, has NFTs, and will have a crypto token in the future. The project reminds me of Ninokuni: Cross Worlds honestly. The typical mobile MMORPG with cartoonish graphics.

When it comes to its graphics they are beautiful. Players will feel like they are in a world of fantasy for their whole time in the Omnispirit Realm, the world of Oath of Peak. The special effects are divine at least, and they feel like they were pulled from an animé series. The gameplay is fast-paced as was to be expected and players will have the typical mobile auto-do-everything features.

Oath of Peak Economy

As a Web3 game, Oath of Peak has a dual-token economy and NFTs.

Starting with the NFTs, these exist as spirit beasts and users can mint them on their official website. They can be used as pets to aid players in battle in-game, can also be staked to earn shells, and can be used to breed. To breed players need to spend Shells and $OOP and they will get another Spirit Beast NFT as a reward. Spirit beasts can also be obtained by playing the game, but obviously, the genesis Spirit Beasts are stronger and will give players way more benefits.

Then there is the $PKTK token which is an ERC-20 token and can be obtained by exchanging Shells for the off-chain version gPKTK. gPKTK can then be swapped by $PKTK on a 1:1 ratio. Players who want to speed up their in-game progression can buy $PKTK to exchange for Shells which have in-game utility.

Then there is the $OOP token whose utility is mainly governance.

Roadmap

This is a fresh project so players that begin now their adventure are early. The next step for Oath of Peak, accordingly to their Roadmap, is to launch tokens which will happen around Q2 or Q3 of 2023. Since the team already launched the $PKTK token on Uniswap, I guess the token that will be released by this time will be the $OOP token.

I guess at some point, even though it is not mentioned, the team will also launch the iOS and PC versions. Right now PC players can only play the game through BlueStacks, which does not offer the best gaming experience.

Last Thoughts

Oath of Peak to me looks like another mobile MMORPG like many others. By the footage, it seems like it is above average in comparison with other games of the same genre. It reminds me of projects like Ninokuni and MIR4. For the fans of the genre, I do believe this will be a great hit.

I am just a bit concerned regarding their tokenomics. The team mentions they have innovative tokenomics and the tokens will not suffer the same fate as in other web3 games. But having a free-to-play game where everyone can earn tokens and extract value from the ecosystem is a combination that failed multiple times in the past.
