Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to Outer Ring. Please join us to learn all about the Outer Ring game and its upcoming IGO on the Seedify Launchpad on March 2nd.
These are chaotic times. With endless wars having led to the demise of the Inner Ring, civilization recognized the Outer Ring as their only hope of survival.
Unfortunately, the fighting and destruction continues, with the Outer Ring Civil War starting shortly after the First Wave of Immigration. Now, many years into this conflict, powerful factions, each with their own goals and ambitions, seek to weigh influence on the future of the Outer Ring. With polarizing views and opposing manifestos, the parasitic Interplanetary Sovereign League (ISL), the technologically advanced Rebirth Coalition, and tech-wary Bastion of Traditions Alliance (BoTA) continue to fight for their causes. Meanwhile, the diverse Multi-Planetary Pacification Coalition, headquartered in the Great Silver City, works to restore peace, justice and order through diplomacy.
Outer Ring is an immersive MMORPG set in a science fiction and fantasy universe and is powered by blockchain technology and the play-to-earn model. The game is based on the novel of the same name, Outer Ring Saga. It follows an exciting storyline focused on the five powerful races belonging to the warring factions (Earthlings, Mechs, Va’ans, Oracles and Scavengons) battling to dictate the direction of civilization in the Indabi Nebula.
Outer Ring is an open, continuously developing, player-driven metaverse game, where the decisions and actions of participants will play a vital role in shaping the future of the game and its economy. Through a combination of nostalgic old school systems and the lucrative opportunities of blockchain, Outer Ring takes aim at a broad and diverse target audience. The game focuses on three main pillars; extensive storylines (lore), skill-based action, and sociability, which includes real-time player interaction and the ability to form clans and teams, along with special events, eSports tournaments and concerts.
To play the game, players will be able to choose between the aforementioned races and factions to fight for control of the planets and their resources in the Outer Ring. Each faction has unique advantages and handicaps.
While the game is based on a free-to-play model, contributions to Outer Ring’s economy will provide participants with many benefits. Through the in-game marketplace, characters and gameplay will be upgradable through booster packs, loot boxes, and various types of weapons, armor, ships and vehicles. Armor, weapons and other items will feature different rarities and tiers with varying strengths and weaknesses, which will affect their abilities and functions in battle.
Using the DNA Gun, players will be able to collect DNA from other ‘living things’, which can be used to generate character improvements, create pets, or increase knowledge of bestiary.
Characters who die in combat, participating in arena battles and dungeons, etc., will need to re-enter the game via resurrection pods.
Modes
Players will be able to participate in various PVE and PVP game-play modes, including exploring areas and planets via spaceships, battling other players in ground combat and arenas, exploring dungeons and completing and participating in special daily challenges, along with tournaments, guild/clan battles, minigames, seasons and other events.
Gamers will be able to collect resources by exploring planets, which they can sell through the black market or use the raw materials and in-game tokens to produce assets such as vehicles, ships, weapons, etc.
More politically minded players will be able to control parts of the Outer Ring universe, gaining this ability by negotiating with NPCs via a card-based game scenario.
Additionally, gamers will be able to shift the paradigm in certain player-controlled zones, changing gameplay modes or enabling certain restrictions and benefits.
All in-game assets in Outer Ring are NFTs. This includes premium cosmetic items, weapons, armor, pets, spaceships used to travel to other planets and vehicles used in PVP ground battles, along with homes and shops. These assets are tradable and feature provable ownership on the blockchain.
Crafting
Players will be able to generate additional revenue in the game by crafting items such as ships, vehicles, weapons, armor or even cometic assets, using the numerous resources and raw materials available on the various planets and tradable on DEXs across the Outer Ring universe. Through a combination of raw materials and in-game tokens, participants can create assets and sell them in the marketplace or player-run shops. Items will fall into 1 of 5 tiers, with the materials and tokens used determining the tier level these items will belong to. Higher tier assets will naturally be more valuable.
Development
The game’s development will follow a series of milestones, with exciting new features being released with each phase.
Through the in-game marketplace, participants will be able to purchase cosmetic items, upgrades, loot boxes, weapons, armor, etc., or sell, auction and trade crafted items, or assets collected/earned through gameplay.
Outer Ring will also feature Resources DEXs on various planets and outposts, along with NPC run and player-established shops such as bars, game rooms, grocery stores, resurrection pods or weapon stores, etc.
Additionally, in the vein of Fortnite, concerts, eSports tournaments and other special events will be hosted. These events will be viewable in virtual reality mode; however, they will be accessible with or without VR glasses. These features and events will enhance the overall experience and add to the social aspects of the game. Arcade-style minigames will also be available for players to participate in.
Outer Ring also offers ad space and merchandising/brand collaboration opportunities with third-party blockchain and real-world companies.
Outer Ring’s dynamic in-game economy will be powered by a two token system, featuring $EXO, which functions as an in-game token and $GQ, which will serve as both an in-game and governance token.
Exocredits ($EXO) is the primary in-game token and will be used for the majority of in-game actions and transactions, including the in-game marketplace and shops. $EXO will be used to craft items and purchase loot boxes, weapons, ships, cosmetic items, etc. and will be earned through participation in missions, quests, battles, etc. $EXO will feature buyback and burn functions to manage and maintain a healthy supply.
Galactic Quadrants ($GQ) is both a governance and in-game token. $GQ holders will be able to participate in the Outer Ring governance structure and decisions in the game’s future development.
In the game, $GQ will be required to create Clans, participate in the in-game politics, change paradigms in player-controlled areas, DNA fusion to create pets and produce Tier 5 in-game assets. Additional use-cases include betting on events, access to extra gameplay in the arcade, improving levels of properties, shops and ships, and accessing exclusive/premium items and content.
$GQ will be earned through selling resources on the black market, completing special daily quests and as seasonal rewards.
