It’s time to get your social groove on as Axie Infinity gives us the first release of Project T, a virtual, social world in the Axie universe! Though just an early prototype version of the game, Project T has already caught the attention of the Axie community.

Outside of real life gatherings, game players love to have a chance to meetup with fellow gamers in virtual worlds. Soon, Axie players will have a chance to interact with the virtual avatars of other players, perhaps some they have known for a long time through chat messages. That’s because Axie Infinity has just released their first playtest of Project T, a new, social, virtual world designed for Axie players!

Project T

In Project T, not only will players be able to socialize with one another, but there will also be mini-games to play and quests to complete. Axie Infinity plans to incorporate the AXP (Axie Experience Points) system into Project T as well, connecting their ecosystem in multiple ways.

The team is quick to stress that this release is considered an early prototype, and just the beginning of what they have planned with Project T.

Early access for Project T goes out to holders of Mystic Axies and Origin Axies, land owners, the top 100 players in the previous four seasons of Axie Origins, and select, invited guests. Players who wish to apply for access can fill out this form.

There is also a new creature in Lunacia known as the Sapidae. And actually, they are not really new, just newly introduced. Apparently Sapidae are the oldest species in all of Lunacia! The Axie team hints that more will be revealed about the Sapidae, and that they will play an important role in Project T.

Axie Origin recently added experience points to their Axie progression system, and have been holding a number of events, contests, and giveaways. Coupled with the addition of this new social world, Axie Infinity is rapidly growing their ecosystem and encouraging activity and engagement from their players.

From the initial reviews, it seems that Axie players are excited about this new addition.

What is Axie Infinity?

Axie Infinity began as a creature battling and breeding game but has expanded into a larger world. Their original game underwent a major overhaul and is now known as Axie Origin. They also have a land-based game called Homelands currently in alpha testing. Axie Infinity is the name for the larger ecosystem.

In Axie Origin players use a team of three Axie NFTs to battle opponents in Adventure mode (PvE) and the Arena (PvP). Rewards from the Arena include Smooth Love Potions (SLP) and AXS, the governance token for Axie Infinity. Players use SLP to breed new Axies. Parent Axies can only produce offspring a limited number of times. Also, players can attach Runes and Charms found in PvE mode to provide boosts to Axies. Origins runs in seasons with special rewards at the end of each one.

Homelands is a farming and crafting game centered around land plots where players assign their Axies to various tasks. Eventually, these two games will interact in some meaningful way.

Axie Infinity just released the first test versions of ‘Project T’, a social world for Axie owners.

Originally on the Ethereum network, Axie Infinity moved to their own Ronin sidechain in 2021. This sidechain is not just for Axie though. Other developers can build on it as well!
