With the official launch of their token, CRDS, Cradles begins a series of special events designed to reward those who hold and/or stake CRDS tokens! And best of all, players can acquire CRDS tokens by playing the game and finding or mining special ore crystals!

Cradles slid into open beta a couple of months ago, bringing their dinosaur-themed MMO to the web3 world. They recently also launched their game token CRDS, and are now offering holders a chance to earn rewards by holding or staking their tokens!

The Hold event begins on November 29th and runs through December 2nd. During that time, 10 random snapshots will be taken. Anyone holding at least 800 CRDS (average throughout all ten snapshots), will receive an Time Hourglass airdrop. There will also be a special Hourglass Treasure Hunt event in December, though we don’t have details about that yet.

And, starting on December 3rd, players can gain admittance to the Silver Wing Alliance by staking at least 500 CRDS to the alliance. Alliance members receive exclusive benefits including eligibility for special airdrops, allowances for future NFT sales, bonus income from staking, and weekly package rewards containing rare rewards!

More about CRDS and Hourglasses

Aside from purchasing CRDS directly (currently only available on the Bybit market), players can also obtain CRDS by playing Cradles. In-game, players can sometimes find CRDS Ore on defeated enemies. They can also upgrade their mining talent, allowing them to mine CRDS Ore. But, in order to do so, you will need a level 50 mining proficiency, and you will have to venture into the PvP-enabled ‘Black Zone’ to find the crystals!

You will also need a Crystal Pass for mining, which can be minted on the Cradles website and also provides early access through Steam.

Then, the crystal ore can be exchanged for CRDS tokens. Any tokens obtained by converting Crystals will be locked up for three years. Players can reduce this lockup time through Cradles Power. They can also use Time Hourglasses to immediately unlock withdrawals of less than 1000 CRDS.

What is Cradles?

Cradles is an MMORPG set in a world co-inhabited by humans and dinosaurs and features a living world that grows and evolves over time.

Cradles includes a main city hub that functions as the marketplace and social scene. Outside of the city are adventure areas. Here players explore, battle with prehistoric beasts, and collect materials for crafting. The adventure areas will represent different, lost eras of time in the Earth’s history. And, of course, the more dangerous areas provide more lucrative rewards! In Cradles, players acquire equipment, crystals, Civilization Flames. Players use Civilization Flames to light beacon towers, which give the player’s favorite civilization a boost.

Crystals are the main game currency, used to level up weapons, strengthen equipment, and make repairs. Crystals will exist as their own blockchain token. Players earn Crystals in daily quests and in crystal mines.

Interestingly, Cradles has chosen not to sell any NFTs! Instead, they will focus on providing value to their token and let players decide which NFTs are worth trading. Players will have access to a crafting feature, allowing them to use materials harvested from the adventure areas to make equipment.

Cradles will include some sort of NFT staking / rental system and options for passive income in the future. It will also be a subscription based game, much like traditional MMOs.

Cradles has other big plans for their MMO including a quest system, player governance, player-created experiences, land ownership, attacks by Chaos on the main cities, and more!
