Farmer’s World is removed from the charts, Sweat Economy is back on top, and the Mutant Apes stay strong! Let’s take a look at the top games and NFT collections from this past week!

NFTs continue to make more mainstream news, though not always in a good way. The new, MrBeast endorsed eSports association known as the Creator League received a ton of backlash when it was discovered that their digital passes that provide perks and voting powers to their holders, used blockchain technology. So much so that they paused their mint, offered refunds, and even laid off some of their staff! Hopefully this stigma against the words blockchain and NFT will fade one day. After all, we still have big names like Casio, Adidas, and even Justin Bieber offering up their own NFTs!

Speaking of NFTs, both Heroes of Mavia and Guild of Guardians released updates to their planned game economies. In both case, the games are switching to a free to play model that doesn’t require owning any NFTs, tokens, or even a crypto wallet! This is a growing trend in web3 development to try and tap into the web2 gaming communities who don’t want to be involved with NFTs. Both games will still support NFTs, but only for those players who choose to follow that path.

We are still waiting for the next beta from Guild of Guardians, but Heroes of Mavia is currently in closed beta. But there is still plenty of web3 gaming available! Additionally, the Cradles open beta started today, Boss Fighters is wrapping up their second weekend of their alpha tournament, and Phantom Galaxies introduced a mini-game for Planet owners! TCG lovers can also rejoice as soon you will have the option of playing Sealed Deck mode in Gods Unchained!

Read on for a look at the most active web3 games and NFT projects for the week. And be sure to keep an eye on our website and Twitter feed for the latest developments in the web3 gaming space!

Last week’s top game, Farmer’s World, had their listing discontinued by DappRadar, so they no longer show up on the charts. I’m half convinced that the game was nothing but bots playing each other. But anyway, we have plenty of other games to fill our charts. And we see more big moves from mobile games, as they begin to dominate the top 10 list in active players!

Sweat Economy is back on top, with Solitaire Blitz coming in second, pushing Alien Worlds all the way down to third — a position it hasn’t occupied for a long time! And our new entry this week, PiperFlare, is another casual game platform, that apparently offers free daily crypto tokens! Meanwhile, our other new entry, Gamify, is an eSports platform with an initial release of a Cricket game with a South Asia target audience. Whatever they’re doing seems to be working. We’ll see if they can expand their audience with future releases!

The Mutant Apes are on top for the second week in a row, followed by the Bored Apes and Gods Unchained. Some projects saw a bit of a boost in trading volume this week, but the overall NFT markets are still sluggish — at least compared to what they used to be.

DeGods continues to grow through their ‘Points Parlor‘ system, a way earn points to purchase other NFTs from the store. And the Pudgy Penguins owner teases a ‘big announcement’ soon. The Nouns project is working on a 3D game for their NFTs. Perhaps their recent trailer has sparked this surge in interest.
