Uldor announces an upcoming release of their Dread Arena. This single player, survive as long as you can, game will help test the game combat and movement, and include an ongoing expansion of features over the next year.

Dread Arena is an arena, survival game set in the fantasy world of Uldor. Players must fight for survival against ever growing hordes of undead soldiers from the Dread King. Those who can survive the longest will receive glory, and in the future, potential rewards as well.

The Dread Arena is meant to serve as both a testing ground for tech that will be used in the game, and a way to let players get a preview of a small slice of Uldor.

The team released a video preview of an early build to give players a feel of what to expect. The Uldor team plans for three major phases of development for the Dread Arena. The first phase, Phase 0, will mainly center around the basics. Making sure that players can download and play the game, getting some early feedback, and working out major bugs.

Phase 1 brings additional functionality such as player accounts and wallet linking. This phase also introduces leaderboards and rewards. Phase 2, the final planned stage, will focus on final improvements, fixes, and polish. It will also include player progression. Probably through a battle pass sort of feature. In addition, Uldor wants to build in functionality for partner projects to create their own tournaments and events.

Even when complete, the Dread Arena should still be considered an early demo preview and only a tiny taste of what the game will become.

The team has not yet revealed any specific dates or requirements for participating in the Dread Arena, though their roadmap has it launching before the end of the year (2022), with updates throughout 2023. Uldor also plans to release a PvP arena in the future.

What is Uldor?

Uldor is a web3-enabled MMORPG in development. The game will be free to play in an open world. It features large-scale PvP battles in faction zones as well as an Arena for more intimate matches. Built in the Unreal engine, Uldor is set in a world ruled by one empire, but broken into three rival factions — known as Zetan, Karg, And Kilan. With the world in turmoil, foes rising from the dead, and ancient beasts returning to plague the lands, players will have plenty of opportunity for glory and adventure.

Players explore the world, fight enemies, complete quests, and all of that good MMORPG stuff. Uldor will also include crafting and PvP.

And though the game is free to play, those with Guardian or Furie NFTs have no need to level up, and also receive access to special quests, adventures and boss fights not available to other players. Both Guardians and Furies are still available for minting on the official website. But any new mints are considered Generation 2, and won’t have as many benefits as older mints.

RUNI token is the official game token and currency, with 70% reserved for issuance via game rewards.
