Warner Brothers is releasing a mass collection of 6 million DC Comics Trading Cards, where each will come with a redeemable NFT. Dubbed ‘hybrid card packs,’ the duel-utility assets will be priced from $5 to $120, and will be minted on Ethereum side chain Immutable X.

Card and board game company Cartamundi will design the cards, which will feature 150 different superheroes. Included in the selection of DC Multiverse superheroes will be a select amount of limited-edition characters from the latest film starring Robert Pattinson, The Batman.

Upon the cards’ release later this month, hopeful purchasers will have to use the Hro app to firstly redeem their card’s NFT counterpart. After accessing their NFT, it can be traded on the same app alongside all other assets in the collection.

Pam Lifford, president of global brands and experiences for Warner Brothers, had this to say about the collection: “Trading cards have been a favorite of fans for decades. Combining that enthusiasm for collecting with a custom NFT is just brilliant”.

This is not the only blockchain-infused endeavour to come from the Warner label in recent times, as 2022 has already seen its Music Group arm ink deals with illustrious industry names such as NFT gaming colossus Splinterlands, NFT music pioneers OneOf, and leading metaverse ecosystem The Sandbox.
