Welcome to my Cosmic Convos. The world is nothing short of amazing artists and they are to be found all around the world. This week’s artist Ilham is an artist from Indonesia that caught my attention a while ago. He makes beautiful psychedelic artworks inspired by Indonesian culture. I love looking at his work because I’m truly amazed by how much detail goes into each individual piece to make the whole artwork.  One of his goals is to share the richness of Indonesian culture with the rest of the world and I’m happy he is able to achieve this through NFTs. Otherwise we probably would’ve never seen his awesome artwork.

Rei: Hi Ilham, where does your artist name comes from?

Ilham: Hi Rei, it’s my actual IRL name, taken from ILHAM SYUKRI HASIBUAN.

Rei: Can you give us a little background about yourself and where you are from?

Ilham: I am a graphic designer who lives and works in Indonesia. My artwork pays homage to my homeland in psychedelic style, FYI I never sold my art before NFTs.

Rei: Can you name a few things that would define you as a person?

Ilham: A father of newborn baby girl, Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, poor English pronounciation, haha.

Rei: When and how did you start making art and how did it evolve into the style you’re making now?

Ilham: My first time making art was in 2017, but it was just for fun beside my job as a graphic designer for a t-shirt shop. I got myself to improve on this particular style since 7 months ago, since I am into this space.

Rei: What specific sources of inspiration for you to create your art?

Ilham: My cultural (tribe) background as 1 of 360 tribes in Indonesia. I am in purpose to explore all of it and execute it on my art.

Rei: How long do you work on art every day and how exactly does this process work?

Ilham: Sometimes I do it like a marathon and make assets installments little by little. I’m always inspired by a lot of artists or art.

Rei: Do you want to convey a certain message with your art pieces?

Ilham: Because I make a lot of art, sometimes the message is only for a specific piece. The main goal is to share the richness of the culture of Indonesia.

Rei: Can you tell us how and when you got into NFTs and how do you like this journey so far?

Ilham: I saw BossLogic tweet about his NFT Collection, and it got me curious to join the NFT space too. I’ts been life changing for me so far!

Ilham

Rei: What are your goals that you want to achieve in the NFT space?

Ilham: Beside it being my main job now I also want to share the richness culture of Indonesia, so all people around the world could enjoy it.

Rei: Which artists in the NFT space do you look up to the most?

Ilham: My favorites are laprisamata, paperbuddha, seerlight & dielamaharanie!

Ilham

Rei: Where do you think the NFT space will go in the next years?

Ilham: As the NFT artist perspective, it could be more or go mainstream as the global economic too. I really don’t know because I am bad in forecasting haha!

Rei: Lastly, where can people find more about you and your art?

Ilham: They can check out Lynkfire, Foundation, OpenSea and KnownOrigin!
