Interesting things are afoot over in Hollywood, as swords and sandals epic, Antara, looks to the NFT world for funding. As a result, holders of the NFT will own a proportionate share in the movie.
Operating through the facet of the “Arabian Camels,” the team aims to raise the $50 million required to fund the project, therefore netting collectors a share in the box office and streaming revenue from the potential blockbuster while further utility comes through acting roles and location scouting for holders of rare items.
A small batch of Antara NFTs currently reside on OpenSea while a whitelist will open soon for holders of the original Arabian Camels collection. The remaining items will arrive by public sale this March. Then, once sold out, collectors can stand by for the big reveal.

Antara follows the true story of 6th century Arabian hero, Antara Ibn Shaddad. A former slave, who upon winning his freedom found notoriety as a knight and a poet. So, to pay homage to this noble warrior, his story will finally be immortalized in film. An epic saga featuring honour, betrayal, love and friendship set in the vast desserts of the Arabian Peninsula.
Steering the good ship Antara is notable director Tarsem Singh, whose unique visual style will bring the project to life. Will things pan out as planned? Who knows, however it is a deeply interesting project to follow.
