Sky Mavis continue their support of Axie Esports with the 2022 instalment of the ‘Axie Esports Grant.’ This year’s grant entails 7500 AXS being allocated across the prize pools and expenses of over 75 community organized tournaments, topping last year’s grant which saw a distribution of 5500 AXS supporting 40 tournaments.
Applications for the second round of grants went live on January 15th, and will continue until January 25th. Once the submission deadline has arrived, Axie Esports events can officially begin taking place, with the final day of the Axie Esports calendar being June 30th, 2022.
Sky Mavis have of course, played their role in ensuring an even better collection of tournaments within this round of grants, fundamentally stemming from their adherence to feedback from last year’s event. Explicit changes they have made to this year’s grant include event expenses being permitted to take up 5% of allocated AXS, a maximum of 150 AXS being allotted to any one event, and single organizers being able to submit up to three events.
Understandably, to create a successful tournament submission, community event organizers must abide by a strict catalogue of requirements which ensure that their efforts are worthy of such funding. Approved tournament organizers who do not meet the minimum requirements will be punished by forfeiting 5% of the AXS they used for expenses, whilst also being disqualified from entering any future Axie Esports grants. Interested participants can submit their application here.
