In December, Bitcoin NFTs — with surging interest in Ordinals and BRC-20 tokens — experienced a spike in sales, setting a new breaking record as per CryptoSlam.

The data aggregator revealed that Bitcoin NFT sales hit a record high with a total of more than $881 million, surpassing all previous sales records for 2023 — a figure that considerably overtakes the former record of $375 million set in the preceding month.

CryptoSlam’s data also highlighted that 111,713 buyer addresses and 98,744 seller addresses were involved in these transactions, setting new monthly record highs.

Growing Fascination with Ordinals

The fascination with Bitcoin NFTs is rapidly growing due to these digital assets offering the ability to embed exclusive data like images or videos onto individual Satoshis, Bitcoin’s smallest unit.
