Welcome to CryptoArt Sundays dear art lovers! This week we have a mind-blowing art genius on the menu. His name is George Boya, and I am totally mesmerized by his unbelievably detailed, unique, and abstract artworks.
He has an insane amount of NFT art up on his MakersPlace profile, which is super impressive. You can see this is someone who was born with art in their bones and soul, and the passion oozes out of his creations. For a little bit of background: George is a Greece-based freelancer, collage artist and illustrator. His artworks blur the lines between collage, painting, stained glass techniques and photography. He visually deconstructs parts of the real world that we normally think of as stable in order to create a new balanced collage compositions.
Check out our awesome chat below to find out more about his NFT art journey!
How did you find out about the NFT space, and what attracted you to create your own NFTs?
I found about NFTs from another blockchain platform and immediately realized that this is what the future of art looks like. I am not tech savvy at all and so I could not understand the mechanics behind NFTs but the idea of giving value and uniqueness to a digital object made me very excited. To have my art cataloged with an immutable tool possibly forever, what more an artist could ask?
How often do you create?
I am trying to create daily to keep my skills sharp but also to make the day meaningful. It was always like that and I can’t imagine myself doing something else.
What is your creative process?
It starts with a big cup of coffee, some good music and a lot of thinking. Then I open Photoshop (which is my favorite tool to create with) and start to mix and match patterns until I start seeing the idea I have in mind taking form. Then again a lot of thinking and planning the next steps and start working again until I am satisfied with the results.
Are there any CryptoArtists you would love to collaborate with?
I love collaborations because it is very refreshing to see your art style mixed with a new one but I have made really few so far. The reason is that I am a bit slow when I work, taking my time thinking, rethinking and changing parts of the composition until I am satisfied. That’s good when you work alone but can be a little stressful when you collaborate. If there is one artist I would love to collaborate with in the future, it is AlottaMoney. I am a big fan of his witty creations and I think we could create something really surreal together.
What do you think the future of CryptoArt will look like?
I can imagine a very surreal future for CryptoArt, augmented, virtual and rare. Artworks that will defy space, time and dimensions in a modern renaissance. A global future and a common ground for all of us to work and learn more about ourselves and the world around us.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on my first Blueprint project for AsyncArt. The title of the Blueprint is MECHANA and hopefully it will be ready next month. I don’t want to say a lot of details because I am still working on it but I am very excited and satisfied with the results so far. I think every artist should for once make a generative project, they are an important trait of the NFT art movement and with the tools that Async provides, it is a rather easy and enjoyable process.
Where can collectors find your work?
Collectors can find my work at Asyncart, SuperRare, MakersPlace and I have a few pieces at Rarible.
