Around the world, over a billion people will celebrate the Lunar New Year, and now, they can also join the festivities in the Metaverse. This comes as Decentraland will play host to a 3-day New Year festival within its Dragon City, one of the communities on its platform. 

How the Festivities Will Take Place

These celebrations, dubbed the ‘Fantastic Land Festival,’ will take place from ​​January 21 – 23, 2023 and will feature musical performances, cultural experiences, activities and epic giveaways. 

“This is the 3rd year for us to celebrate Luna New Year in Decentraland. Dragon City is hosting FantasticLand festival 2023 for 3 days in a row!” the event page says. 

A star studded schedule of performances will include artists from throughout the Chinese region. Within their ranks, featuring traditional styles in the shape of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the modern beats of Cantopop. In addition, to ring in New Years Eve, Miss Yigu Xiao and Mr He He Sheng will serenade guests with an extra special performance.
