On May 10, a tweet from Elon Musk yet again demonstrated the sway that esteemed luminaries have on the Web3 market. The business tycoon’s shoutout catapulted the value and popularity of the Milady Makers NFT collection to dizzy new heights. As a result, the entry-level price of the collectibles shot up from 3.8 ETH to 7.3 ETH, despite ETH itself not doing so hot.

The CEO of Tesla and Twitter delighted Milady’s fanbase and piqued the curiosity of Web3 novice Twitter fans by showcasing one of the NFT memes adorned with the text, “There is no meme, I love you.

Before Musk’s tweet came to light, Miladys had already been experiencing growth. The digital assets saw a 59% increase, reflecting a thriving interest in the collection following its introduction to Blur’s new Blend lending platform.

Past Controversies of Miladys NFTs

Miladys’ journey has been a roller-coaster of thought-provoking events. Last year, the prices of the collectibles took a hit when the project’s creator, Charlotte Fang, admitted to operating an anonymous Twitter account, sharing abusive and racist content. The NFTs saw a resurgence in value as Fang stepped down from the project, bringing confidence back into the project.

Recently the collectibles also became a subject of a “wartime” meme spreading across the Web3 sphere. As a result of growing scrutiny from the SEC and heightened attention on cryptocurrency, NFT enthusiasts are turning to Milady Makers’ artwork as a means of social expression on Twitter.

Being a part of such twists and turns, Miladys’ has captured the attention of NFT fans and sparked essential conversations regarding accountability, the intersection of technology and art, and the power of social expression such digital assets hold.
