Fire up the engines and roll out the checkered flag, NFTs are getting ready to take a ride in the fast lane. Formula 1 team, Williams Racing, in association with the Kraken NFT marketplace, will bedeck its ferocious car with digital collectibles this Autumn. The best part? Play your cards right, and your prized assets could be in contention!

Roaring towards the finish line, Williams and Kraken have launched the NFT contest of the century. As a result, 6 lucky NFT holders will see their beloved collectibles grace the rear wing on 2 of Williams high speed ‘FW45’ race cars at this year’s Formula 1 Lenovo Grand Prix in the USA. All they have to do is nominate their tokens and rally up support for their sweet pieces of digital art.

In order to get in on the action, token holders must submit their nominations before 23:59 PT on August 18. They can achieve this by completing the dedicated online form, and including a link to the asset’s page in the Kraken marketplace. Following the deadline, Kraken will put the top 20 entries to a community vote between August 28 -31, of which the 4 most popular will win out and feature on the car, alongside 2 more selected by the drivers, Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.

Williams Racing and Kraken Extend their Blockchain Partnership

The latest move comes as part of a long-running partnership between the Williams Racing team and Kraken. Back in March, the mighty crypto platform inked a deal with the speedy motorsports giant to bring educational experiences to the masses. Since then, it has promoted the use of blockchain technology both via its race car, and its devoted community.

The latest move is designed primarily to promote the NFT marketplace on a global scale and normalize the use of NFTs in a familiar environment. So, the time has come to shift it up a gear and get those digital collectibles following the racing line!
