Etihad is set to become the latest airline to take off into Web3 through the launch of an NFT collection based on its various aircrafts. Dubbed ‘EY-ZERO1,’ the collection will consist of 2,003 assets, with each to feature one of its ten Boeing 787 Dreamliner liveries. Included in the collection of designs are the company’s iconic Manchester City FC and Greenliner-themed jets.
The NFTs will drop on NFT platform Arcube on July 21st, and will be available for purchase through Etihad’s Guest Rewards Shop. Users will be able to get an NFT until 18:00 GST on August 18th, with each one costing $349 (plus tax). Loyalty program members can redeem their Etihad Guest Miles in exchange for one of the NFTs.
There will only be 1,983 NFTs available for minting, as the airline will be giving away 20 EY-ZERO1 NFTs to those who pre-register for the drop before July 16th. Irrespective of whether they’re purchased or won, all the NFTs will also come with a one-year membership to Etihad’s Guest Silver tier, as well as entry into a draw to win one of ten complimentary flight tickets.
The aviation-themed collection comes in wake of Australian airline Qantas launching a reward-centric NFT collection back in March, as well as AirBaltic’s drop of a collection based on its Airbus A220-300 in April.
