Visionary filmmaker, Sherone Rabinovitz, has teased an intriguing four-minute trailer of his forthcoming CryptoPunks documentary on Vimeo, unraveling the famed NFT collection’s eventful five-year journey in light of Beeple’s upcoming CryptoPunks party.

The trailer highlights a four-minute excerpt from Rabinovitz’s 2018 interview with the original masterminds behind the pixelated project, John Watkinson and Matt Hall of Larva Labs, before the brains behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs, took over the project’s IP rights in 2022.

Watchers can expect to uncover critical parts of CryptoPunks’ upward trajectory before and after its IP takeover, including the project’s role during the NFT art frenzy of 2021, unique features that enhance demand, and compelling engagements from celebrities, auction houses, collaborations, and spinoff ventures.

CryptoPunks’ Filmmaking Future

Rabinovitz’s documentary still awaits an official debut date. Its emergence arises during a time when enthusiasm for NFT content declines. Coinbase’s Bored Ape movie is postponed owing to this reason, alongside the World of Women’s storytelling collaboration with Reese Witherspoon.

Nonetheless, the floor price of CryptoPunks remains steady since April last year, with a mighty floor price of $75,000 (45.19 ETH). In fact, Punk #1101, with three unique attributes — messy hair, a handlebar beard, and nerd glasses — sold for $100,072 (58 ETH) earlier today, according to CryptoPunks.app, presenting ongoing allure for these collectibles.

So, stay alert for the upcoming launch of Rabinovitz’s documentary to explore the fascinating narrative of CryptoPunks’ legacy.
