The NFT will be available as ERC-721 for purchase for 0.1 ETH in a 24-hour sale starting at 1:00 pm EDT on April 9 on the Foundation platform.

Created in a collaboration between Yard and generative agency, ARTXCODE, the animated cover will be released exclusively as a limited edition of the April/May 2023 issue in the United States. Additionally, representing the sole cover of the Europe and Asia editions of the magazine, which will circulate on newsstands beginning April 25, 2023.

Yard designed the magazine cover art, to showcase her vision of crypto and NFTs as a long-term mission, applauding those who continue building even during tough times. “I surround myself with a community focused on building rather than merely looking for quick riches or fame. Even though it was a tough year for the crypto economy, many things are changing rapidly, such as AI, ChatGPT, and other technologies connected with the NFT and blockchain revolution. Rather than becoming bogged down in negative thoughts, I want people to see that growth.”

Fortune’s latest issue features an iconic cover that shows the shifting of the building blocks as crypto climbs back from one of its worst years ever. This continuity, despite the ups and downs, mirrors the strides that have been made in the crypto ecosystem over the last year.

To encourage participation from the broadest possible segment of the cryptocurrency community and show support for the sector during the bear period, the artwork will trade for a reasonable price-point of around $170. With the release of its second NFT, Fortune is broadening its coverage of Web3 and AI and adding to the dialogue about how business and finance will develop.

Itzel Yard, also known as Ix Shells, is a self-taught creative coder and artist based in Panama has become one of the most notable names in contemporary generative art. Yard’s artwork symbolizes hope for the crypto community, which has become a significant component of her artistic practice. She utilized Touch Designer to produce the animated historic magazine cover, employing a 3D displacement program, a noise algorithm, and geometries that give the impression of pixels growing.

“The algorithm I used to make the artwork is something that expands pixels and can convert a small black square into a more extensive geometric shape,” said Yard. “For me it looks like when I’m walking in the middle of a city and I look up and see all the buildings.”
