Cryptocurrency payment infrastructure leader, MoonPay, and esteemed NFT artist and photographer, Julie Pacino, have unveiled an innovative partnership centered around Pacino’s debut feature-length film. The film is inspired by her NFT-native photography collections, ‘I Live Here Now’ and ‘Keepers of the Inn.’ Pacino, a long-time proponent of NFTs and Web3, has made a name for herself, even taking part in TIMEPieces’ Build a Better Future Genesis drop in 2021.
Through her “I Live Here Now” collection, Pacino could dive deep into character development using photographic stills, ultimately creating a psychological horror film. The plot revolves around a struggling actress who faces her resurfacing childhood trauma while staying at a secluded hotel in the woods, where she encounters a mysterious presence that forces her to question her reality.

While this film marks Pacino’s first feature-length project, she has previously directed several well-received short films under her production company, Tiny Apples, such as Hard Work, Nowhere to Go, and Harmony in Gold. Pacino strongly advocates for implementing Web3 technology in the film industry, asserting that NFTs liberate artists from depending solely on major studios and crowdfunding platforms for financing.
Pacino and MoonPay Collaboration Integrating Web3 and Filmmaking
In a recent press release, Pacino expressed her enthusiasm for teaming up with MoonPay, explaining, “I want to help pave the way for the next generation of artists entering Web3, which is why I’ve aligned with MoonPay, as they have built a platform that makes the entry easy, efficient, and effective.” She emphasized the significance of visibility for NFT artists, especially women and the LGBTQIA+ community, and expressed hope that the partnership will broaden access to Web3 and amplify film projects.
This collaboration follows MoonPay’s acquisition of Web3 creative agency Nightshift, which has since been rebranded as Otherlife. MoonPay’s goal is to onboard as many people as possible to Web3, and supporting Pacino’s work could substantially enhance its brand awareness and overall objectives.
In the press release, Tom Capone, Head of Entertainment at MoonPay, shared his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to be a part of I Live Here Now, a historic project that highlights the power of Web3 to create community, break boundaries, and allow artists to share their stories.” He commended Pacino’s trailblazing efforts in Web3 and predicted that her project would become a milestone in modern filmmaking.
Apart from the feature film, Pacino is collaborating with MoonPay on a new NFT portrait series called Hollywood Mornings, scheduled for release later this year. This partnership represents a bold move towards integrating Web3 technology, NFTs, and filmmaking, providing a glimpse into the future of decentralized and democratized creative industries.
