Many of the world’s biggest brands are getting their feet wet in the NFT waters, and Porsche is not being left behind. The iconic car maker has unveiled its first-ever NFT collection at Art Basel. This project is in collaboration with 3D artist Patrick Vogel and offers fans a front seat in the creative process with many benefits.
Fans Co-create NFTs
Unlike many NFT projects put forward by big brands, These NFTs are not ‘finished’ per se. Instead, buyers will collaborate with Vogel in their design.
These will start with Vogel portraits centered around a white Porsche 911. Over the months, the buyers will work with the artist, choosing themes and other details that will influence the final product. Once the NFT is finished, it will be accessed in the Metaverse.
The NFTs will be available from January 2023, and those interested can sign up for an allowlist ahead of this period. 7,500 NFTs will be available, and customers are limited to a maximum of 3. Owners of the NFTs can interact with the brand in the virtual world and join it on its path toward web3. According to the Porsche team, this project is working to redefine luxury for its customers.
“The NFT artworks enable us to take our understanding of modern luxury and the unique brand positioning of Porsche into the digital world.” – Detlev von Platen – Executive Board for Sales and Marketing.
