DraftKings, a sports betting operator, has tapped renowned DJ Steve Aoki as its new NFT ambassador. This new partnership will see Aoki specifically promoting the company’s NFT marketplace, especially its DraftKings Reignmakers franchise.

Aoki in the Metaverse

The DraftKings Reignmakers franchise that will be at the centre of this partnership is one that sees DraftKings users trade NFT player cards that will be used in sports contests. Not only will Aoki promote the marketplace but he will also launch his own collection, the Aoki 2022 All-Star Access Pass, on September 14, 2022.

Aoki is joining a long list of celebrities who have become ambassadors for NFT projects, including David Beckham and Snoop Dogg. DraftKings, on its part, has said that they are excited about what this partnership will bring to its customers.

Steve Aoki is globally recognised for his contributions to the music industry and more recently, for his involvement with digital collectibles. I am excited to welcome him to the DraftKings family,” said DraftKings co-founder Matt Kalish.

Aoki has also said that he is looking forward to offering DraftKings users more ownership of their rosters as they use the platform, as well as the development of next-generation fantasy sports.
