The infamous crime-fighting reptilians of animated television show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) are preparing to launch another NFT collection. It’ll be the first solo NFT project from the franchise, as its previous collection was curated in collaboration with Funko and TokenHead, as part of the Funko Digital Pop! NFT series.
The news was announced via a short teaser trailer which served as the inaugural tweet of the franchise’s new Twitter page, which has been specially created for its NFT endeavours. Captioned ‘Incoming Call from NYC’s sewers, transformation has begun…’ the cartoon trailer shows a glass capsule of what appears to be ‘Mutagen,’ the glowing green biochemical weapon of the series’ villain ‘The Kraang,’ falling down a sewer drain, resulting in a mysterious green light to shine upwards and out from its depths. The trailer also ended by stating that the TMNT NFT collection will be launched some time in Spring 2022.
The only other tweet that the account has made is a reply to Seth Green, one of the many voice actors of the gang’s leader and tactical commander, Leonardo.
As of now, such information is all that has been released, so make sure to follow the franchise’s specialised Twitter page to keep up to date with the project’s progress.
