Julian Lennon, the eldest son of the late music icon John Lennon, is set to auction various pieces of ‘The Beatles’ and John Lennon memorabilia as NFTs. In collaboration with Juliens Auctions and YellowHeart NFT, a portion of the proceeds raised from the auction will go to Julian’s charity, ‘The White Feather Foundation’.
The NFTs are part of a collection titled ‘The Lennon Connection’. Each NFT will be offered as an audio-visual collectible, with the imagery of each digital item being accompanied by narration from Julian. The NFTs will be based on various physical pieces from Julian’s personal memorabilia collection, including a black cape worn by Lennon in the film ‘Help!,’ handwritten notes from The Beatle’s hit song ‘Hey Jude,’ Lennon’s Afghan coat worn in the ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ film, and three Gibson guitars given to Julian by his father.
The auction for the collection is currently live, and will end on February 7th. The handwritten ‘Hey Jude’ notes are forecasted to rake in the most interest, with the final bid expected to be over double the $30,000 starting price.
‘The Lennon Collection’ is not the first NFT collection to be inspired by the legendary Liverpudlian rock band, as December 2021 saw ‘The Voices of Classic Rock’ release an exclusive collection based on four unique interviews with the Fab Four.
