Pioneer of the open world metaverse, The Sandbox, has announced the creation of a brand new accelerator program. Through industry specialists, Brinc, they aim to fund 100 metaverse start ups over the next three years.

To bankroll the endeavour, The Sandbox has side-lined a grand total of $50 million, which it will then distribute to successful applicants with genuine propositions that will enhance the open metaverse. The project will provide up to $250k to each start-up, with top performers receiving additional investment, $SAND tokens and LAND grants.

Once onboard, projects will receive expert guidance from The Sandbox and Brinc, as well as professional mentorship from a large number of industry specialists, all with the common goal of bringing innovation to the metaverse and opening it up to a wider audience.

Applications are currently open, with the first project scheduled to begin its accelerator program in Q2. Would-be participants must demonstrate technical expertise, the ability to deliver new experiences and an innovative approach to the technology, while also showing fresh creativity and a passion for the metaverse.
