Lamborghini-backed GT racing team Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) is looking to revolutionize the way in which racing cars are maintained and developed by building an NFT certification system around each of its car’s respective parts.

In partnership with NFT platform Go2NFT, the initiative will see VSR turn the individual parts of their cars into NFTs in order to track their performance and admin-related attributes throughout their lifespans. In doing so, the racing team hopes that it can optimize their car’s outputs on the track whilst simultaneously minimizing costs.

When speaking on the innovative concept, former Italian racing driver and current VSR team member Vincenzo Sospiri had this to say:

“This also brings great responsibility,  to ensure that we can securely authenticate and audit every part of our racing fleet to monitor performance and ensure provenance. We are excited to pilot with Go2NFT and the renowned team at Skey Network to build NFT certification across our cars and other products to ensure we maintain the highest standards of quality”.

In addition, VSR’s adoption of blockchain technology isn’t set to stop at the performance of its cars, as the company also plans on rolling out an NFT certification program for its other products such as merchandise, in order to ensure that its fans feel an enhanced level of trust when interacting with its virtual and IRL stores.

The initiative, which for now remains as a ‘pilot,’ will be rolled out on a TBA date in the future. You can check out a visual demonstration of the concept here.
