File-sharing platform WeTransfer has joined forces with Minima, a next-generation blockchain platform, to empower creators through NFTs. The two companies plan to deploy the non-fungible tokens on Minima’s network, which will go live next month and be accessible in 180 countries.

According to a press release seen on February 7, the initiative offers creators rights management over their digital property. Thus, users of the platform will be able to generate NFTs from their phones and any other device. Also, they will be able to control how and with whom they share their digital assets, as well as have the tools to monetize these non-fungible tokens.

WeTransfer And Minima Have A Shared Vision

The partnership comes from the two companies having a shared vision. Both aim to facilitate innovation and creativity while easily connecting users without having to sacrifice privacy.

Damian Bradfield, the Chief Creative Officer at WeTransfer, is excited by this partnership. On why they opted to go with Minima and not any other blockchain network, he notes that the protocol shares the same ideals as WeTransfer. Also, the fact that users can share data with each other without the need for third-party intermediaries was a big plus.

That said, the Minima network will empower users to create revenue from their digital assets and receive revenue whenever their creations are utilized.

Hugo Feiler, CEO of Minima, is equally upbeat about the partnership. He notes that it will help his protocol support “the development and acceleration of creativity in the digital age where individuals retain ownership and control of their work.” Feiler added, “This partnership will explore the practical use of NFT technology, something that interests not only the crypto industry, but will be a test case to demonstrate the potential of wider adoption of this innovative digital tool.”

Minima has been around since 2018. It’s based in Zug, Switzerland, an area that is well known for its crypto startup ecosystem.
