It’s becoming clear that digital wearables will be a huge staple of the future NFT ecosystem. With legacy brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry and more having recently taken the plunge into the metaverse, premiere fashion house Coach has now followed suit.

Starting today, Dec. 17, Coach will be releasing a total of 80 NFTs to celebrate its 80th anniversary. As part of the brand’s “Give A Little Love” holiday campaign, eight multi-edition collectibles of 10 NFTs each will be released once a day up till Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

Although the idea of digital wearables has been around for quite some time — surely thanks in part to Fortnite — metaverse fashion has been especially huge in 2021. As we witnessed Nike acquire digital fashion icons RTFKT and Adidas launching its debut NFT collection in December alone, there’s no telling what the 2022 market will look like.

Yet in an interesting move, Coach will not yet be offering up any digital wearables or accessories with their inaugural drop — but eight animated NFTs based on the lovable characters from its recently released Snow City game. Featuring adorable tokenized versions of Belle the penguin, Fuzz the polar bear, Ginger the fox and more, the collection feels to be a solid holiday season move; one that was developed in partnership with VaynerNFT.

While collectors of these Coach NFTs — which were minted on the energy-efficient and affordable Polygon blockchain — may not be snagging any digital garments in the near future, they will be able to redeem a customizable, physical Coach Rogue bag sometime in 2022.
